Letter wall decoration – Eva Birdthistle

Hi Everyone,

Today we are going to share a great idea from Eva, our DT member.
A great way to decorate a large wall space is to cover letters in co-ordinating paper and adhere to your blank wall. I’ve done mine on my client photography wall to break up all the images.
What you will need:

  • Select your blank letters to spell your word, i.e. LOVE, LIFE, LIVE, FAMILY etc
  • Select a different patterned for each letter. I kept it simple by choosing black and white (also goes with my black frames.
  • White paint
  • Glue
  • Ribbon
  • Brads or gems

Step 1

Choose your co-ordinating paper for each of your letters, lay them out to see which pattern goes where, mix stripes with florals and other patterns.

Step 2

Cover your letters, trimming the paper close to the edge of the letters

Step 3

Sand the edges of the letters until the edges are smooth

Step 4

Use the white paint to cover the edges, blending using either your finger or a baby wipe

Step 5

Decorate your letter with tied ribbons and brads or gems.

Step 6

Adhere your letters to the wall using strong glue or hot glue gun.
