Hi everyone and welcome to Day 4 of our 12 days of Christmas! I am here to show you a cute little project to make your own snowmen that will last all Christmas – no melting snowmen here!
What you will need:
- Styrafoam balls, one bigger and one smaller
- Glue – I used multi medium
- Paint brush
- Toothpicks and somewhere to stick the toothpicks into
- Craft knife
- Embellishments – for example brads for eyes, ribbon for scarf etc
Cut a small slice off the bottom of your bigger styrafoam ball. This is so that it has a flat bottom and will stand still for you and not just roll off somewhere!
Take a toothpick and stick it into the bottom of the large styrafoam ball – into the now flat part of it. Take a brush and apply your glue all over, but not right on the base.
Take your glitter and pour it all over where the glue is. The glitter will stick to the glue. I like to leave it for a minute or two and the press down all over on the glitter to make sure it sticks right into the glue. When you are done stick your other end of the toothpick into something to keep your glitter ball up off your desk and allow it to dry. I put mine into a small ribbon spool.
Take your smaller ball and pick what will be the bottom of this one. There is no need to cut this ball as we are just going to stick it on top of the other ball so it can stay fully round. Put a toothpick into the bottom and repeat steps 2 & 3.
Embellish as you like!!
You can use any colour glitter for these that you like, so you can easily match your Christmas decor! You could also make these as small little gifts for friends and families. I added mine into a little lantern and added some faux snow made from tissue. I added a small battery operated tea light in behind the snowman too.
To be in with the chance to win make sure to link up your Christmas projects to our Inlinkz at the bottom of our day 1 post here.
