CHA 2013 Review

So unless you have been hiding under a rock lately you will have heard that CHA has been happening. CHA is the craft and hobby association and it is a trade fair where all our favourite companies set up booths, demo their products and more importantly show off their new lines of stuff. We couldn’t make it to CHA but we did the next best thing – we picked out 5 things we saw featured by companies as our top 5 picks and are going to share them with you below!

Pick 1: Lawn Fawn Dies

Our number 1 pick is the new Lawn Fawn Dies! We both adore Lawn Fawn and their new co-ordinating dies have knocked our socks off.  They also have some adorable new sets out too. You can see the full range of the dies on their post here, but we also have a little peek below….

Pick 2: Tim Holtz Distress Paints

We also love the new distress paints from Tim Holtz. If you know us you know that we like products that are versatile and can be used for many different mediums such as card making, altered art, scrapbooking etc. And these certainly tick all the boxes! You can see all the info here. These pains are similar to the fluid vintage style milk-paints with a mixing ball inside when you shake it up.  They work on multi-surfaces including paper, chipboard, grungeboard, fabric, wood, metals and plastics.  They react with water while the paint is wet allowing you some great blending ability and awesome textural effects.  However, is once the paints are dry, they don’t re-wet so you’re able to layer these with the other distress products like inks and stains to achieve incredible effects. They come in 24 colours too so lots of choice!

Pick 3: My Mind’s Eye Washi Tape Sets

We love these new sets from My Mind’s Eye. I think it is safe to say most of us are on a washi tape craze and these sets sure satisfy the cravings for more sets! There are six sets…gray/yellow, orange/pink, green/navy, red/turquoise, blue, and red/black. Each tape set contains eight rolls of decorative tape and each roll has over 15 feet of decorative tape! Each set is comprised of classic+trendy patterns. Amongst the sets  you will see stripes, zig zags, arrows, polka dots, and others. We think these are a perfect collection of tapes to go with nearly any project!

Tapetags

Pick 4: Crate Paper DIY Shop

This gorgeous new collection from Crate Paper is just stunning. So stunning it was so difficult to just share one image of it below, you simply have to check out their blog posting here showing off the full collection! We are in love with this collection, it has something for everyone, the colours and patterns are beautiful and the elements, oh my! Crate Paper says about this collection: “DIY Shop is a collection of some of our favorite essential items designed with a vintage touch and the signature Crate Paper style. Scattered throughout the collection are several must-haves for the Crate scrapper: wood, numbers, days of the week, months, Crate flowers, doilies and a vintage ephemera pack that is adorable (the gold glitter tags are a perfect touch for any project). Along with all the Crate basics you’ll find our new photo overlays, which add an Instagram feel to your photos and of course, our new washi tape. Get ready to get back to Crate basics and make every project a DIY masterpiece!

We love it!

Pick 5: Simple Stories Sn@p

We love scrapbooking but sometimes it can be time consuming and you end up falling behind in the memories and photos you are scrapping. We love Simple Stories system to allow for super easy and fun scrapbooking. There new collection includes lots of amazing new coloured binder systems and pockets and pages. We really love the need add on’s to the Sn@p range that you can see here. There are so many exciting add ons with this release from new pages, chipboard dividers and pockets to new embellishments, stamps and an oh-so-perfect snap pouch that lets you store all your snap goodies in your little albums (or big 12×12 albums) for all of your on-the-go snapping! We really love the colours too, they are so on trend and fun! Again you really have to check out the link to it, there is so much in this range you need to see it!

We hope you enjoy these peeks and don’t forget to visit each companies blog to check out the rest of their ranges. However Crafting Ireland refuses to accept any responsibility for your shopping splurges on new craft supplies 😀
