Crafting with your Kids – Felicia Thomas

Hi all,

Do you craft with your kids? During the summer vacation it is easy to find a little time and create a fun project for your kids to keep them occupied for a few hours.

Felicia helps us to start creating.

Felicia says:

It has been a long time since my children made their own birthday cards to give to friends (which makes me sound ancient I know!!) but this used to be one of their favourites.  You don’t even need to use the dies; you just need two oval shapes that you cut around, one bigger than the other.

  • A blank card (or make your own)
  • Brightly coloured backing paper
  • Green card
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue
  • Black marker
  • Spellbinders Oval dies

 Step 1

Cut your backing paper and glue onto your card.

Step 2

Cut 1 large and 2 smaller ovals from the green card.

Step 3

Position the small ovals halfway under the large oval to create eyes.

Step 4

Glue all the pieces in place when you’re happy with the position.

Step 5

Add the googly eyes.

Step 6

Draw on a smiley mouth and nostrils.

You could also use white card and let kiddos paint or colour it green (or whatever colour they want their frogs to be!)

This is a fun project and you can think about other animals that are easy to recreate with simple shapes.

Happy Crafting,
