The first ever Crafting Ireland crop took place on Saturday the 26th May in the Athlone Springs Hotel. It was a glorious day, much too nice to be inside! However we still had some dedicated crafters who came along and had a great day.
We had a fantastic make a take demo with the new In the Bag die by Kate of Create With Kate. There was a little prize up for grabs on the best bag too, just to make it that bit more fun. Kate also brought the shop along which I think I can safely say that everyone enjoyed a lot 🙂
Felicia then did a superb mini book class that was great for using up paper packs. You can see the tutorial for the mini book on Felicias blog here.
Timi then did a demo on creating a scrapbook layout using Inktense blocks. She showed how to use this fantastic product to get some amazing effects on pages. These techniques would also work for cards too.
This demo turned into a bit of a discussion about Inktense blocks vs the Inktense Pencils. Nicole had brought her pencils along so did a quick review on the pencils. Other mediums were also discussed such as the Portfolio Water Soluble Oil pastels. This discussion was great as everyone got to ask questions about products that they may not have considered using on cards, mini albums or scrapbook layouts before.
Nicole then also did a demo on the eCraft and showed how it works and the benifits and negatives of it 🙂
With lots going on and then people working on their own projects it was a fun and productive day. We did seem to bring home a lot of biscuits though, so everyone must have been working too hard to tuck in!
The day was wrapped up with a raffle. The tickets were the little tags on the bunch of keys & charms that everone got as they came in.
The raffle prizes were kindly provided by Create With Kate, An Siopa Bui, Crafty Cutting and Hill Agencies.
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along, especially on such a beautiful day. We hope you all had a great time and enjoyed all the classes and demos.
