On page 38 of Issue 18 of the magazine we had an article on Sketch Inspiration. We had some sketches and Timi and Nicole both made cards based on the sketches. We thought it would be fun to see if any of our design team were inspired by the sketches so we challenged them to pick a sketch and give it a go….
Sketch 1
Andrea Ockey Parr gave this sketch a go and came up with the fantastic result below….We love how she changed the sketch up and made it look so arty!
Andrea Kovacs version of the sketch is beautiful, it really shows how you can take a sketch and really make it your own….
Here you can see Nicole’s take on the sketch…..
And also Timi’s….
Sketch 2
Sketch 2 was a very popular one with our team, have a look at their versions of the sketch below – there is really amazing variety!
Mary Jo’s card uses beautiful patterned papers that really pop against her kraft background….
Katya’s card has a beautiful colour combo and a great use of negative space….
Sketch 3
This sketch seemed to be a challenging one and only Timi and Nicole tried this one!
Timi’s version is brilliant interpretation of the sketch, using some of the banner elements to work her sentiment in….
Nicole stuck more directly to the sketch and did ink splattering, messy stitching and lots of use of small scraps to create the banners/flags….
We hope you enjoyed seeing this inspiration on the variety of ways that you can interpret sketches and make them your own. We would love to see any projects you make inspired by these sketches. You can share them on our Facebook page here.
Happy Crafting,
