Wedding Card and Gift Envelope – Felicia Thomas

Today Felicia (Scrapzville) our DT member will show you a fantastic wedding project.

Felcia says:

I made this card so that I could give my friends a gift envelope that is presented nicely for their wedding, its easy to make, can be as elaborate or simple as you please and they won’t get another card like it!

What you will need:

2x A4 white card – (A4 measures approx 115/8 x 81/4”)

1 piece 12×12” design paper.

Adhesive

Knife, paper trimmer, steel ruler, bone folder, scoring tool.

Step 1

Cut the A4 card to 21×27 cm

Score centre ways (10.5) and at 9 & 18 cm

Step 2

Cut the corners, these will create the pockets to put your tag and envelope.

Step 3

Cut your design paper to 10×8.5cm and attach to the top left and top right panels this gives you a 0.25cm border around each panel.

Step 4

Fold and glue the centre panel.

Step 5

Cut your design paper to cover all the panels and then fold your card into a zigzag.

This gives you the basic card base which now needs decorating.

Step 6

The back pocket is to hold the gift envelope, to make this cut your A4 card to 11x22cm

Score a 0.5cm border along each long side and score across at 8 & 16cm

Cut the 0.5cm border from the top 6cm section only

Step 7

Cut a shape into this section to form the flap of your envelope (I cut it into a point but you could round the edges of use a decorative punch.)

And I used my circular punch to cut a semi circle on the lower section

Fold in your 0.5cm edges, add adhesive and fold- this creates your gift envelope.

Step 8

For the front pocket I created a tag, (double your card here for strength) printed out a sentiment, used a Nestabilities die to cut it out and then adhered it using foam squares for some dimension. 

I used scraps of the design paper to make some tabs for the envelope and tag and then added flowers, pearls, ribbons and stick pins to make it pretty.

The card I made is very feminine, but by changing your paper line and embellishments you could make it any way you like.
