Altered Sunglasses – Aideen Fallon

Hey guys! Welcome to my altered sunglasses post-this is such an easy project anyone could give it a go.

photo 1 aideen
I had spotted these designer sunglasses by Dolce & Gabanna online costing about $250 and thought I could make something similar! So I bought a coloured pair of sunnies in Penneys to makeover-I was hoping to get ones closer to the style of the D&G ones but no luck!
photo 2 aideen
Using my E6000 glue from CardznScrapz I added resin flowers to the frames for a cute look. If you were someone who’s good at making little clay flowers you could make a fantastic pair inspired by the Dolce & Gabanna ones….

Clean and Simple Bon Voyage Card – Aideen Fallon

Hey guys so when it comes to crafting I am mostly a clean and simple kinda crafter. I am so in awe of people who add so many fabulous layers and details-I am always saying that I need to get more dimension on my projects so watch this space….

But for today I have a quick and simple Bon Voyage card to share! All I used was a Kraft card blank, some of the docrafts travel themed line ‘all aboard’ papers and paperclip with ribbon, then the chipboard sticker suitcase and ‘adventure awaits’ I received from my friend Emily.

photo (1) aideen
I edged all the paper pieces with my Rusty keys ink by Ingvild Bolme for Prima.

photo 2 aideen

I secured the ribbon to the paperclip using my Tim Holtz tiny attacher-one of my favourite tools!!

photo 3 aideen
Then I adhered down the design paper and the notelet/paperclip using double sided tape.

photo 4 aideen
I always add some extra glue to my chips even if they already have adhesive on them-currently this glue is my favourite from CardznScrapz

photo 5 aideen
And that’s it-I think it’s cute!!

photo 6 aideen
Of course you have to dress up the inside too so I added more of the design paper and another notelet for the sentiments to be written onto,

Thanks for popping by,

Fun Mini Album – Aideen Fallon

Hello everyone!

Aideen here today to show you this fun mini and embellies from Scrapfellow.

I have quite a nice supply of scrapfellow chip embellies in my stash but this was my first time using one of their mini albums. I decided to work with their insta album and all you instagram users will recognise the camera shape as that used for the app. This is such a cute idea for an album shape and I really enjoyed doing it up.

So first I covered all the pages with Dear Lizzy for American crafts polka dot party! These cute pastel papers have gorgeous prints-I got my 6×6 pad from CardznScrapz.
photo
Then I painted the edges of the pages with my Gold acrylic paint dabber by Ranger. The front page of the album is the die cut camera shape and using my dabber I stippled on the gold to give it a nice thick textured finish-it almost gives a gold leaf effect!
photo
For the binding I used some Tim Holtz swivel clasps just to add a different fun element to the album. On the cover I have more chipboard embellies by Scrapfellow (love these!!!). So the speech bubble, the little heart and the arrow are all scrapfellow. I used some of my juniper paint dabber on the bubble and arrow. The small flower cluster is from a recent flower haul (see my YouTube channel for more flowery goodness).

Thanks for looking at my album and stop by scrapfellow to check out all their yummy chipboard goodies as well as a whole bunch of other goodies,

Aideen 🙂 x

Needle Felted Lamb

Hey guys, Aideen here today!

I got a fun craft book for Christmas from my brother and it has not only paper crafts but many others too! I really enjoy looking through craft books and seeing some projects I would like to try and one that I saw in the book was needle felting and in particular a needle felted lamb.

The video explains the story so please take a peep and enjoy… My first ever needle felt project-the little lamb.

Thanks for having a look,

Altered Decopatch Impala

Altered Decopatch Impala by Aideen Fallon

So I spotted this Impala on cardznscrapz.com and had to buy him for my friend Emily as a present-she loves Nordic goodies and I thought I could alter him up to make him a really nice piece for her wall.

project 1

Isn’t he lovely-I was so excited to alter this guy and to hear what Emily thinks!!

So for the first step I painted him white all over with my paint dabber in snow cap. Then using music note tissue paper again from Cardznscrapz I covered just his head and ears using matte multi medium.

project 2

At this point I knew I was going to love this guy!

Next up I decided I would like to do something with the antlers or are they horns?? Anyways I applied mod podge all over them and coated them with glitter-I think you can see it in this pic.

project 3

Next up I asked my husband who is a carpenter to make me a mount board and again I gave it a coat of snow cap!!

project 4

Ok so the board is a little too plain as we need Mr Impala to stand out from the background-so I covered it with paper from this Kaisercraft base coat paper pad-again from CardznScrapz.

project 5

Also mounted things like this normally have a metal plaque-so hello Mr Tim Holtz-again I added snow cap to this metal word stick and then wiped it with a baby wipe so the paint was only left in the words to make them stand out.

project 6

And then it was just a matter of gluing it all together and I used E6000 (CardznScrapz) to adhere everything down. I also inked up the edges of the mount board with black just to give it more definition against Mr Impala. A Tim Holtz metal clip for a hanger and some ribbon from my stash and there you have him!!!
